Waist Training Before & After with TrueShapers

I didn’t think I would end up showing this much skin so soon into my blog writing…but here I am, writing about waist training before & after with TrueShapers waist cinchers. Full disclosure, the good people at TrueShapers contacted me to wear one of their waist cinchers to see if I would do an in-depth review of their product. Waist training is something I’ve never wanted to do, and wouldn’t normally do, but I am a curious person. (This is the thing that gets me in trouble the most in my life). But, I wanted to see if it would help me get that hourglass figure I’ve always wanted. I wanted to see if it would hurt to wear. I wanted to see if I could stick to the program, but mostly, I wanted to see what I could tell you about it actually working and any tips or tricks I may learn along the way!

This is my before photo. I’m wearing a sports bra and spandex shorts. I rolled them down so you can see my torso. I really don’t have much of a waist, just hips, and then like an inch or two of waist. I’m not going to write all about the dangers and benefits of waist training just yet…I’m going to do my research as I go and update this article as I go. In case you do want to read more about TrueShapers and the benefits of their products, here’s a link for you!

True Shaper Waist Cincher Before & After

Consider this my before photo!

This waist cincher that I am wearing in the photo above is called a Women’s Workout 3 Hook Waist Cincher.┬áIt’s for every day use and for working out. It’s 3 PLUS-D with Ultra High Compression, which means it’s extra pressure to shape your torso. If you click on the photo of the tag, it will take you to the TrueShapers site so you can read a lot more about it there. I can tell you that it feels like a scuba suit, but it doesn’t make you sweat. It has some sort of special fabric that breathes (and no latex, so you don’t end up smelling like an old tire by the end of the day). The quality of this garment is amazing. The stitching is beautiful, and I think it looks sexy, especially for something that people will sometimes refer to as a girdle!

I was also given the TrueShapers Womens Classic 3 Hook Waist Cincher designated for every day use (not for working out), but my torso is too short for it, so I stuck with the work-out one. I gave a good friend of mine the Classic 3 Hook Waist Cincher to wear, and we’re doing this challenge together. She has more discipline than I do and will probably have better results, btrueshapersclassicbeforeafterphotosut we’ll see! She is wearing the black one, which is just so sexy with a black bra.

For the record, my friend and I are both wearing our waist-cinchers for 6-8 hours/day and not wearing them while we’re working out. I have started taking classes and there is a lot of ab work needed in those classes (not that you can tell about any hints of abs yet, but hey, I’m trying!), and I read that you’re not supposed to do ab work while you wear a waist cincher. Oh, but you definitely SHOULD work out in general if you’re waist-training. Otherwise, as I read in this article by Danielle Prescod in Elle Magazine, your abs will turn to mush.

Week 1:

As I said before, my friend is also doing her own blog about the Classic Waist Cincher she is wearing, so this particular post will just record my results. But, for the record, you can see in the top post that I was on the very last hook (the easiest one). Within a week, I am now lasting half a day on the highest (tightest) hook, but then having to loosen it later. I was just getting ready for work one morning and took this photo.

Trueshapers Waist Cincher Tightest Row Waist TrainingI think it looks really great with the black bra and I don’t think you’d be embarrassed to be seen in this with your husband/partner/girlfriend/wife/significant other in the room. I’m not quite ready to do a full-on after photo yet (and when I do, I’ll do it with the sports bra and the same spandex shorts, so you can get a clear idea of what was and was not shaped. I think this may end up being a 3-week project. But we’ll see how it goes!

Another thing I learned this week is that TrueShapers waist cinchers are made in Columbia. In fact, a majority of the waist cinchers you’ll find out there are from Columbia! From what I understand, Columbian women absolutely love their shapewear, so it makes sense that they’ve been the ones to have perfected it!

Eventually, I am going to give this a star rating, talk about comfort, etc., but so far, so good. And there’s so much more to come. Stay tuned. And feel free to ask any questions in the comments!
