I’m. In. Love. The Assets Red Hot Label by Spanx Sleek Slimmers Medium Control Slip is one of my new favorite pieces of shapewear. In fact, it’s one of my favorite pieces of all time! I just wore this all day and really, truly, head-over-heels, fell in l’amore with this perfect slimming garment.
This is a make-your-own slimming slip dress. I tried it in a Medium. I think I could have tried a small. In my opinion, it may run a bit big.
In any case, this slimming dress is not just a tube of slimming fabric, as one might think. Nope. This is actually cut for the female form. There are darts in the breast area and space for your hips! And you guys . . . it’s absolutely amazing!
At first I stepped into this. But I couldn’t get the material to lay flat against my back. So, instead, I pulled it over my head. By putting it on this way, I was able to get the material to lay flat on my bra strap. It also wasn’t so tight that it hurt when I put it on this way. Huge plus.
If you’ve read this blog regularly, you know that I am a curvy gal. I can’t really wear strapless bras and expect them to stay up (if you know of one that actually will fit me & stay up, tell me right now, because I will order it to ship overnight and review it the next day). Anyway, this slip gives you the option to hold it up with straps. You can adjust it into a halter, criss cross, over the shoulder, or even over one shoulder. But guess what? I wore it strapless over my bra and it stayed up all day. Let me repeat that: it stayed up all day.
For those of you who wear shapewear often, you know that non-structured items like this can roll up, stretch out, bunch up in the middle, or just plain fall down. Well, I’m pleased to report that I wore this throughout the entire day today and barely even thought about it. I mean…I wore this strapless and never once tugged at the top of it. Not once. That’s huge!
Another thing I loved about this slip is that it’s seamless. There’s no lace at the bottom, so you can wear it with a longer-length dress and not have a visible line where the slip ends. You can see in the before & after photo that the dress flows the way it should. I also took before & after photos of the front of this dress, but then realized that the dress is so deceivingly slimming (due to the design on it) that you’d never be able to tell if I gained or lost sizes from the shaping slip.
And next you’ll see the side photos, which truly show the difference. As for “Wow Factor” I think this is great to wear in front of someone else. Check the photo of the model to see what I mean. It’s sleek and cute – maybe just lose your bra first.
